NordicTrack S 3000 Treadmill: A Review

The NordicTrack S 3000 treadmill is resplendent with so many amazing utilities that it's simply impossible to get any better value for money. It's rock solid, the most sturdy and stable treadmill there can be. With a 400 lb weight capacity deck, it's just about enough for most WWE stars. That should be enough for you too, eh?

The motor is the next thing that catches attention. At 5.0 HP, the commercial DurX™ motor is likely to be the most powerful of them all. Intense workouts can be handled with ease. The motor is built to produce high torque at low RPM, which gives a noiseless performance. A built-in fan cools the components and reduces wear and tear. To top it all, there is a lifetime warranty on the motor.

The Durasoft Adjustable cushioning is the best thing your knees can get. The deck is nicely cushioned with rubber isolators to absorb shocks and protect your joints and ligaments in the ankles, knees and hips. It is up to 28% softer than jogging on the road.

A great variety of workouts is possible with the NordicTrack S 3000. You can customize your workouts or use the built-in workouts that include:
25 workouts designed by certified pros
4 heart rate workouts
4 calorie workouts
1 10K workout
1 marathon
4 customizable workouts

It's compatible with iFit so you can download any programs you wish from the Internet.

The electronic console is, well, basic. The S 3000 does not score high on the looks front; it is a monster after all. But the controls are more than easy. You can switch speeds by a sliding function, you don't need to scroll. The 24 Alphanumeric character display lets you view the statistics on an 8x30 matrix.

The speed range is 0-12 miles per hour. If you think you can top that, try the 0-15% power incline. That should test you out.

The NordicTrack S 3000 requires a 20 amp outlet for operation, so you will need to have one available.

The warranties are good, but not as good as some of the competitors. At around 3K dollars it is a serious buy for serious runners. If you are a rookie on the fitness front, look for other low-priced models.
