Everything you need to know about treadmills

Manual vs. Motorized Treadmills
Are you thinking of buying a treadmill?  The first question that may come to your mind is whether to buy a motorized or a manual treadmill.

The basic difference between the two is that a manual treadmill does not have a motor. The treadmill uses your foot power instead of horsepower. A motorized treadmill automatically moves the treadmill.
In a motorize treadmill you can also set the speed at which the motor will move the belt.

Since non-motorized or manual treadmills do not have a motor, one of the obvious advantages that these treadmills have is a much lower cost than motorized treadmills.

In case you are on a budget, then a manual treadmill can be a very attractive option. Some people hold the view that a manual treadmill provides you with a greater level of exercise than a motorized one. This is probably because they think that you have to start up the treadmill from a resting state to a moving state with your feet.

This is only partly true. The fact is that manually moving a treadmill may require you to spend a lot of energy that could have otherwise been used in running or jogging on a motorized one. Moreover, a motorized treadmill comes with features such as exercise programs, speeds and inclines that provide you with variety and increase the intensity of your exercise routines.

Of course, the only reason you want to buy a manual treadmill is the low cost. One thing you can do is to buy a manual treadmill and get used to it. After you have used it for some time, and when money is no longer a constraint, you can buy a motorized machine.

That way you will not waste time making a decision and you will get started on your exercise routine.
