Herpes is a condition that is afflicting the world for hundreds of years. I say afflicting because like HIV, herpes has no cure. This virus is generally passed through sexual activity. Herpes is a hard virus to investigate (i.e. finding a cure for herpes), due to its dormant nature. The herpes simplex virus makes itself known through the appearance of outbreaks. Herpes is obviously so difficult to cure because between outbreaks it hides in the nerve endings in your body in what is known as the dormant phase. Herpes Cure StudiesScientists are working hard to try to find a herpes cure. However right now the only form of medication is that which helps suppress the herpes outbreaks as well as topical treatments to kill the virus once an outbreak occurs. Many people wonder if scientists are making any headway when trying to find a herpes cure. In reality herpes is going to be very hard to cure, because it is a virus. Typically we have to rely on our bodies to suppress these viruses. So when talking about herpes, when our bodies go to fight the infection, the virus beats a hastyretreat into the nerve endings and lies dormant. It is safe there from attacks by the immune system , and the only time that it reappears is when another herpes outbreak occurs. Herpes Cure MedicationsAlthough there is no cure for herpes, the herpes outbreaks can be suppressed with some of the anti-viral mediactions available. There is also not a vaccine that can effect a cure for the herpes virus. Prevention won't cure herpes, but... Don't have unprotected sex with new partners or if you know or suspect your partner may have herpes. This alone will help enormously in protecting you from getting infected with the herpes virus. Also oral sex is another primary source of herpes infection. Oral infections on the inside of the mouth are happening more and more every day. So when considering oral sex one must also use some form of protection as well. Again, the protection is not a cure for herpes but it just reduces the risk of becoming infected. Refraining from having any intercourse with others is the only sure way to avoid the spread of herpes. |
